What’s it like to be a young pastor in an old denomination–the United Methodist Church?
That’s what I’m figuring out on a daily basis. And on this site you can read about my experiences, reflections, and how God is still doing something unique among the people called Methodists.
30 years ago I was born in Conyers, Georgia. After graduating from a magnet high school whose goal was to make me an engineer, I attended a liberal arts school–Furman University. I graduated with a degree in Political Science, worked on a political campaign, and then headed to seminary at Duke Divinity School. There, I fell in love with the church, history, theology, and our brothers and sisters in Christ who are spread around the globe. In May of 2012, I graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree. From 2012 to 2017, I served as an Associate Pastor at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church in Dacula, Georgia.
Currently, I’m serving as Lead Pastor of Harvest Point United Methodist Church in Locust Grove, GA. I also serve on the Board of Trustees of Salem Campmeeting.
This past May, I married Emily–the love of my life!
I’ve been an amateur photographer for seven years taking photographs for myself, friends, clients, and other organizations. Most of the photos showcased in my blog posts are my own.
